In this work we discuss the topic of observing the micro-macro entanglement in the specific system presented in a recent work [F. De Martini et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 100, 253601 (2008)]. There the overall micro-macro state was obtained by an amplification process performed over an entangled couple. Here we discuss the assumptions underling the performed experimental test and we address the feasibility of a "genuine" entanglement test based on deliberate attenuation of the macro state.

Abstract

In this work we discuss the topic of observing the micro-macro entanglement in the specific system presented in a recent work [F. De Martini et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 100, 253601 (2008)]. There the overall micro-macro state was obtained by an amplification process performed over an entangled couple. Here we discuss the assumptions underling the performed experimental test and we address the feasibility of a "genuine" entanglement test based on deliberate attenuation of the macro state.
