We propose a Bayesian approach for matching noisy multivariate continuous vectors observed on different occasions but originating from the same closed population. The proposed methodology can be profitably adopted in record linkage and in capture-recapture problems where the size of a finite population is the main object of interest and the number of "recaptured" individuals is unknown. A Gibbs sampling scheme is used to simulate from the posterior distribution of the model parameters. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated with simulated data sets. © Statistics Sweden.

Abstract
We propose a Bayesian approach for matching noisy multivariate continuous vectors observed on different occasions but originating from the same closed population. The proposed methodology can be profitably adopted in record linkage and in capture-recapture problems where the size of a finite population is the main object of interest and the number of "recaptured" individuals is unknown. A Gibbs sampling scheme is used to simulate from the posterior distribution of the model parameters. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated with simulated data sets. © Statistics Sweden.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
