This paper resulted from a poster presented at the 24th Annual AIA Conference (Associazione Italiana di Anglistica), held at the Faculty of Humanities, University Rome Tre, 1-3 October 2009. As coordinator for the new computer-based examinations in two of the largest subscribed faculties in the Sapienza University of Rome, Economics and Law, the author describes the processes involved in the creation of specialized tests for ESP, namely English for Economics and Business, and Legal English, respectively. The results to date, reported in the article, demonstrate a high degree of reliability and construct validity.
