New archaeological data on the formative periods leading to the emergence of the Gramantian kingdom are presented. The oasis of Fewet is the best preserved rural village excavated up to now in the region of Fazzan and its remains together with information from the related necropolis are extremely precious for a historical reconstruction of the first early State formation in the heart of the Sahara.
