The kinetics of doping with I of polyacetylene films, synthesized by the H. Shirakawa technique (Ito, T. S.; Ikeda, S., 1974) was studied by measuring the variation of elec. cond. and IR absorbance at 1400, 1023, and 750 cm-1 within the 1st min of doping. The doping process occurs within ≥3 steps whose rate consts. differ by orders of magnitude. An attempt was made to elaborate a kinetic model for the doping process, and the activation energies are calcd.
