A new amorphous complex with formula [Pt-3(ttz)(8)]Cl-6 was obtained on heating for 15 min at 150 degrees C a mixture of Pt(ttz)(2)Cl-2 and [Pt(ttz)(3)Cl] Cl in a 1.2 ratio. An LAXS (large angle X-ray scattering) investigation revealed that four ttz molecules act as bridging ligands and four ttz complete the coordination around three platinum ions. XPS (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) data showed that ttz is bonded to the metal through the thioketonic sulfur atom and that electronic charge redistribution in the ligand takes place after complexation. No metal-nitrogen bonds are present. Chloride ions are not directly involved in the coordination to the metal but interact with nitrogen atoms by hydrogen bonding.

Abstract
Chloride ions are not directly involved in the coordination to the metal but interact with nitrogen atoms by hydrogen bonding.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
