The effects were studied of adding to white cement mortars and pastes bivalent copper in the form of chloride dissolved in aqueous solution at three levels of concentration. The variations in certain physical and mechanical properties of the different mixtures have been related with the evolution of phases during hydration and the development of heat over time.
