Holmium laser sclerostomy (HLS) was performed in 48 glaucomatous eyes of 46 patients using 5-fluorouracil in 5 doses of 5 mg each in 0.1 mL. This group was compared with a control group of 42 glaucomatous eyes of 41 patients who underwent HLS without 5-fluorouracil. Twenty-eight treated and 24 control eyes needed retreatment. Twelve months after HLS, the success rate in the treated group, in which eyes did not require a second holmium laser treatment, was about 50% vs 33.3% in controls.

This group was compared with a control group of 42 glaucomatous eyes of 41 patients who underwent HLS without 5-fluorouracil. Twenty-eight treated and 24 control eyes needed retreatment. Twelve months after HLS, the success rate in the treated group, in which eyes did not require a second holmium laser treatment, was about 50% vs 33.3% in controls.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
