THE UNIVERSITY of Wisconsin (UW) solution has made it possible to effectively extend the hypothermic Storage of liver, pancreas, and kidney. Modifications of its chemical contents may be required to obtain the same results in heart, lung, and small bowel transplantation. Our experience in perfusion and preservation, using UW solution, for abdominal organs in en bloc transplantation of liver, pancreas, and small bowel is reported here.
