The 1972 Convention for the world cultural and natural inheritance protection is presented and commented. Subsequently, the data containing timing of adhesion and the signalling of the sites, was received from the 182 adherent countries and analysed. A most thorough analysis relates to the sites which contain heritage, adhering to the guidelines presented by UNESCO. Any historical classification is also indicated. The rigid criteria used to select locations are also indicated together with an estimate of the heritage of each country. Finally the list of sites which are currently in danger is signalled to highlight UNESCO’s attention to this area. In conclusions the aim is to indicate the level of attention each country dedicates to each site. Italy is proudly the country with the highest number of signalled sites: 40.

Abstract
Italy is proudly the country with the highest number of signalled sites: 40.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
