The effects that a vegetation layer shielding a roof cover has on indoor ambient temperatures are investigated in the case of absence of an air-conditioning system. The thermal behaviour and effectiveness of vegetation covers with different average absorptance for solar radiation and diffusive properties which shield roof-covering structures of different masses are analyzed through a finite-difference simulation model. The influence of the outdoor ventilation airflow rates on the main environmental parameters is discussed.

Abstract
The effects that a vegetation layer shielding a roof cover has on indoor ambient temperatures are investigated in the case of absence of an air-conditioning system. The thermal behaviour and effectiveness of vegetation covers with different average absorptance for solar radiation and diffusive properties which shield roof-covering structures of different masses are analyzed through a finite-difference simulation model. The influence of the outdoor ventilation airflow rates on the main environmental parameters is discussed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
