Particle characterisation in real time and in flow, requires the determination of a data set directly without any sampling procedure. Such data must be exclusively obtained evaluating the information available from the image analysis of the surface of an heap of particulate solids. This approach enables to establish a correlation between image parameters (texture or colour) and physic-chemical parameters characterising the set of particles to be evaluated. With reference to a quartz-feldspar sand ore the parameters obtained from image processing of particles were correlated with the chemical composition and the size distribution of the sand (in situ and after attrition).

Abstract
Particle characterisation in real time and in flow, requires the determination of a data set directly without any sampling procedure. Such data must be exclusively obtained evaluating the information available from the image analysis of the surface of an heap of particulate solids. This approach enables to establish a correlation between image parameters (texture or colour) and physic-chemical parameters characterising the set of particles to be evaluated. With reference to a quartz-feldspar sand ore the parameters obtained from image processing of particles were correlated with the chemical composition and the size distribution of the sand (in situ and after attrition).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
