In this paper we address the problem of multipath cancellation in the reference signal used in passive radar, which exploits FM transmitter as source of opportunity. The presence of multipath echoes in the reference signal is demonstrated to strongly affect the detection performance of passive radar. Based on the well-known CMA approach, new multi-dimensional techniques are derived for the adaptive equalization of the reference signal. The effectiveness of the proposed techniques is demonstrated with reference to typical simulated scenarios. The proposed strategies are shown to be very appealing solutions for multipath cancellation in the reference signal for passive radar.

Abstract
In this paper we address the problem of multipath cancellation in the reference signal used in passive radar, which exploits FM transmitter as source of opportunity. The presence of multipath echoes in the reference signal is demonstrated to strongly affect the detection performance of passive radar. Based on the well-known CMA approach, new multi-dimensional techniques are derived for the adaptive equalization of the reference signal. The effectiveness of the proposed techniques is demonstrated with reference to typical simulated scenarios. The proposed strategies are shown to be very appealing solutions for multipath cancellation in the reference signal for passive radar.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
