Within the stripe quantum critical point scenario for high T-c superconductors, we point out that in addition to the usual Drude term, there is a direct contribution of charge collective fluctuations to the optical absorption and to the DC resistivity. In particular, we find that the critical charge collective modes lead to T-linear resistivity, which extends to zero temperature near optimal doping. (C) 2003 Published by Elsevier B.V.

Abstract

Within the stripe quantum critical point scenario for high T-c superconductors, we point out that in addition to the usual Drude term, there is a direct contribution of charge collective fluctuations to the optical absorption and to the DC resistivity. In particular, we find that the critical charge collective modes lead to T-linear resistivity, which extends to zero temperature near optimal doping. (C) 2003 Published by Elsevier B.V.
