A new system of air distribution inside a train coach for transport of sick people was investigated by means of numerical simulation and experimental measures on a prototype specially built for the study. A correct air distribution system is of primary importance for proper cleanliness of the environment as these coaches are not only a closed environment but host ill people too. The air distribution system studied, entails the use of high induction created by means of emission from overhead micro nuzzles, in such a way to maintain the air speed within the occupied zones under the limits of norm. Adjustable micro nuzzles allow, wherever necessary, the customisation of the air jets. Results of simulation show good correspondence with values obtained from experimental measures on the prototype. The main parameters representative of the comfort, measured at horizontal planes 0.3 meters above each stretcher and at planes transversal to the coach, have been checked.

Abstract
The main parameters representative of the comfort, measured at horizontal planes 0.3 meters above each stretcher and at planes transversal to the coach, have been checked.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
