After the tragic event of 31.10.2002, the Administration of the Provincia of Potenza entrusted the Dept. of Structures of the University of Basilicata for an investigation on the seismic vulnerability of the schools in this area. The study is splitted in three phases, at increasing level of detail. Until now the first level has been completed, with the aim of providing a first vulnerability evaluation of all the school buildings designed without any seismic provision. It is essentially based on technical data available in the public administration offices, on a sight inspection of the main structural characteristics, on the seismic history of the constructions and on a model whose complexity is calibrated on the attained knowledge level. In the present work the set up method, with its advantages and limits, and the main results on the large data base, relevant to about 80 school buildings are described.

Abstract
In the present work the set up method, with its advantages and limits, and the main results on the large data base, relevant to about 80 school buildings are described.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
