The understanding of the near field coupling between RFID UHF label and UHF reader antenna is very important for a good design configuration and optimization of labels and reader antennas. To this aim the near field coupling between labels and reader is investigated in this paper by analytical and numerical approaches. The attention is mainly addressed to the coupling between reader antenna (modeled by loop or circularly polarized antenna) and labels (modeled by loop antenna) in stacked and non-staked positions.
