Poly(l-lactide) syngle crystals were employed as drug carriers for delivery system preparation. Thery were selectively hydrolyzed with HCl to produce carboxylic groups on the lamellar surface. The introduced carboxylic groups were subsequently employed to graft Dipyridamole (Dip), chosen as a model drug. The hydrolysis effect on polymer single crystal properties, Dip grafting yield and drug release in ilpase solution was investigated. Dip was slowly released over few days, suggesting the potential use of poly(l-lactide) single crystals as drug controlled release carriers for oral or parenteral administering.

Abstract
Poly(l-lactide) syngle crystals were employed as drug carriers for delivery system preparation. Thery were selectively hydrolyzed with HCl to produce carboxylic groups on the lamellar surface. The introduced carboxylic groups were subsequently employed to graft Dipyridamole (Dip), chosen as a model drug. The hydrolysis effect on polymer single crystal properties, Dip grafting yield and drug release in ilpase solution was investigated. Dip was slowly released over few days, suggesting the potential use of poly(l-lactide) single crystals as drug controlled release carriers for oral or parenteral administering.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
