In this study, the preparation and characterization of porous scaffolds obtained by a botton-up approach is reported. Particularly, pristine and derivatized poly-l-lactide single crystals were compressed in presence of NaCl grains and then the salt was dissolved in water. It was observed that porosity, pore dimension, interconnectivity and mechanical properties can be predefined by an appropriate choise of the component volume fraction, grain size and molding condition. Moreover, this approach allows the modulation of the scaffold surface composition by using different ratio of pristine and derivatized lamellae or by mixing differently grafted single crystals.

Abstract
In this study, the preparation and characterization of porous scaffolds obtained by a botton-up approach is reported. Particularly, pristine and derivatized poly-l-lactide single crystals were compressed in presence of NaCl grains and then the salt was dissolved in water. It was observed that porosity, pore dimension, interconnectivity and mechanical properties can be predefined by an appropriate choise of the component volume fraction, grain size and molding condition. Moreover, this approach allows the modulation of the scaffold surface composition by using different ratio of pristine and derivatized lamellae or by mixing differently grafted single crystals.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
