The primary target of the biocidal action of lipodepsipeptides (LDPs) is the plasma membrane. Experiments with artificial membranes showed that the extent of membrane permeabilization was dependent on the composition of the lipid membrane and on the structure of the LDP. In lipodespinonapeptides, the presence of 4-chlorothreonine and the integrity of the lactone macrocycle were shown to be important for the pore formation.

Abstract
The primary target of the biocidal action of lipodepsipeptides (LDPs) is the plasma membrane. Experiments with artificial membranes showed that the extent of membrane permeabilization was dependent on the composition of the lipid membrane and on the structure of the LDP. In lipodespinonapeptides, the presence of 4-chlorothreonine and the integrity of the lactone macrocycle were shown to be important for the pore formation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
