Most initiatives bave occurred along specific lines of cooperation witb only limited levels of inter-initiative cooperation at tbe intemational leve!. Given the global and macro-economic nature of many of tbe cballenges facing tbe coffee sector, tbere is a particular need and opportunity for building stronger information excbange and cooperation at tbe global leve!. Italy is one of the most important importing countries in Europe (leader of tbe out-of-bome market, witb espresso coffee). Italy is leading actor for tbe commerciai image and financially is a centrai reality as a consequence of its quality produci.
