A two-dimensional scattering problem of a circular cylinder buried beneath a rough surface is analyzed through the Cylindrical Wave Approach. The fields scattered by the cylinders are sums of cylindrical waves and the concept of planewave spectrum is employed, to take into account reflection and transmission through the interface. The analytical expressions of the fields are derived from the small perturbation method, with a first order approximation for the reflection and transmission coefficients. Results can be obtained both in near-and far-field region, for TE and TM polarization. © 2009 IEEE.

Abstract
A two-dimensional scattering problem of a circular cylinder buried beneath a rough surface is analyzed through the Cylindrical Wave Approach. The fields scattered by the cylinders are sums of cylindrical waves and the concept of planewave spectrum is employed, to take into account reflection and transmission through the interface. The analytical expressions of the fields are derived from the small perturbation method, with a first order approximation for the reflection and transmission coefficients. Results can be obtained both in near-and far-field region, for TE and TM polarization. © 2009 IEEE.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
