Recent alluvial deposits in Rome, Italy: Morpho-stratigraphic, mineralogical and geomechanical characterisation

A multisciplinary study on the alluvial deposits of Rome subsurface are presented. Four main groups of alluvial deposits are recognized and their geometrical relationships are assessed. Mineralogical and physical feautures of these groups allow us to differentiate those one belonging to the main channel to those ones of the tributary valleys. This varability suggests careful extrapolation of the geotechnical characteristics.
