Abstract

The design and analysis of a multivariable flight control system for a VTOL unihabited aerial vehicle is presented. The 2-DOF control design is based on μ-synthesis technique and the control problem is formulated to give robust stability and model following. The controller, designed for low speed, provides stability in a wide part of vehicle flight envelope and almost total decoupling. Attitude command response type is realized by outer SISO loops that generate reference commands for the inner MIMO controller. Control system performance is verified in various simulated maneuvers © 2002 by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Inc. All rights reserved.
