Electric arc furnace (EAF) dusts containing significant amounts of zinc, iron, lead, manganese, chromium and nickel have to be processed because they are regarded as an hazardous waste. In this research a study on extraction kinetics of zinc from low zinc EAF dusts by aqueous sulfuric acid leaching was carried out. The influence on metal dissolution of both temperature in the range 30 - 90 °C and sulfuric acid concentration in the range 0.1 - 2 M was investigated.
