The intention of the paper is to follow Emerson's intention, set clearly in 'The Lord's Supper" (1832), to move from Word to voice, that is from an absolute, definitive, institutional idea of religion and language to a contingent, immediate, experiential one. Everyman can express and partake of the emotion of one moment. This, I believe, is one of Emerson's greatest artistic intuitions at the core of his cultural Declaration od Independence from Europe.

Abstract
The intention of the paper is to follow Emerson's intention, set clearly in 'The Lord's Supper" (1832), to move from Word to voice, that is from an absolute, definitive, institutional idea of religion and language to a contingent, immediate, experiential one. Everyman can express and partake of the emotion of one moment. This, I believe, is one of Emerson's greatest artistic intuitions at the core of his cultural Declaration od Independence from Europe.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
