A potential ow model for seakeeping ship is presented. Nonlinear and linearized formulations are presented in a unied version suitable for time domain simulation. It is shown that dependence of hydrodynamic loads on (unknown) body acceleration can be factored out to make easier the coupling of the uid dynamic solver with the equation of body motion. Sample solutions for a real ship are presented.
