The objective of the present work is to study the effect of debonding damage on the modal damping of a sandwich panel. The experimental FRF, obtained with a broadband excitation, were already available from an analogous research concerning the variations of resonant frequencies. For some modes the results have shown that increasing in severity of damage cause a slight increase in damping coefficient. Finally comparisons between the variations of modal damping and frequency is performed.

Abstract
The objective of the present work is to study the effect of debonding damage on the modal damping of a sandwich panel. The experimental FRF, obtained with a broadband excitation, were already available from an analogous research concerning the variations of resonant frequencies. For some modes the results have shown that increasing in severity of damage cause a slight increase in damping coefficient. Finally comparisons between the variations of modal damping and frequency is performed.File allegati a questo prodotto
