This work aims to characterize the effects of forced acoustic waves onto a weakly turbulent premixed methane/air flame. These acoustic waves are generated by means of a loudspeaker and injected into the combustion chamber coaxially. The experimental characterization is performed by using synchronized PIV and PLIF techniques, the last based on OH+ emission. The interaction between the forced acoustics and combustion is examined in terms of macroscopic effects, as velocity and vorticity fields.

Abstract
This work aims to characterize the effects of forced acoustic waves onto a weakly turbulent premixed methane/air flame. These acoustic waves are generated by means of a loudspeaker and injected into the combustion chamber coaxially. The experimental characterization is performed by using synchronized PIV and PLIF techniques, the last based on OH+ emission. The interaction between the forced acoustics and combustion is examined in terms of macroscopic effects, as velocity and vorticity fields.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
