In this paper, we discuss alignment of tracking detectors in High Energy Physics experiment BTeV, and we propose a position monitoring system based on use of Fiber Bragg Grating sensors. The system is intended for monitoring the displacements of high spatial resolution detectors used in High Energy Physics, such as silicon vertex detectors, and it was tested on a scaled down mock-up of a detector currently in planning stage. Results of experimental tests devoted to verify the reliability of the system are presented.

Abstract
In this paper, we discuss alignment of tracking detectors in High Energy Physics experiment BTeV, and we propose a position monitoring system based on use of Fiber Bragg Grating sensors. The system is intended for monitoring the displacements of high spatial resolution detectors used in High Energy Physics, such as silicon vertex detectors, and it was tested on a scaled down mock-up of a detector currently in planning stage. Results of experimental tests devoted to verify the reliability of the system are presented.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
