Two new indices, valid for Italian industry, are presented here. The first one has a general structure, the same as that of the ENR, and is based on a group of a few fundamental construction factors. The second, of technical origin, is meaningful only for the individual components of installation and is developed in this paper for various plant components of the chemical industry. An initial approximation index for petroleum refineries is also worked out.
