The maturation of sleep patterns and brain processes underlies the ability to recall dreams throughout the lifespan. The literature on the electroencephalographic (EEG) patterns associated with dream recall (DR) mainly involved young adults, and it suggests that decreased slowfrequency activity and increased fast-frequency activity during the !nal segment of sleep facilitate DR. Although limited, existing studies in older adults similarly found reduced slow-wave activity and increased cortical activation prior to DR. Given the absence of developmental data, this study aimed to investigate the EEG patterns permissive of DR in children, focusing on slow (i.e., delta) and fast frequencies (i.e., beta).
