The PF/PF-A (Progressive Failure of Structurally Controlled Overbreaks) experiment examines how structurally controlled rock mass damage evolves and spreads in faulted Opalinus Clay shale exca- vations. The project includes an in-situ experiment, installed at the Main Fault of the Mont Terri rock laboratory (MTRL), (hydro)mechanical laboratory testing of fault rocks, with a focus on natural scaly- clay and tectonic fault planes, as well as discontinuum numerical modelling and simulations. In this paper, key observations are summarised and discussed.

Abstract
The PF/PF-A (Progressive Failure of Structurally Controlled Overbreaks) experiment examines how structurally controlled rock mass damage evolves and spreads in faulted Opalinus Clay shale exca- vations. The project includes an in-situ experiment, installed at the Main Fault of the Mont Terri rock laboratory (MTRL), (hydro)mechanical laboratory testing of fault rocks, with a focus on natural scaly- clay and tectonic fault planes, as well as discontinuum numerical modelling and simulations. In this paper, key observations are summarised and discussed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
