In the first part of this paper, I briefly summarize the issue of the two waves of Averroes’ reception in the Latin world, from the 13th to the 16th century. Then I investigate the editorial history of an important but usually neglected 11-volume edition of Aristotle and Averroes, which appeared in 1560 in Venice, printed by the Venetian printer Comin da Trino, on behalf of the Venetian bookseller Zaccaria Zenaro, under the mark “al segno della fontana”. This edition sheds new light on the publishing history of the coeval and far more famous edition of the Latin Aristotle and Averroes edited by Giunta brothers.

Abstract
In the first part of this paper, I briefly summarize the issue of the two waves of Averroes’ reception in the Latin world, from the 13th to the 16th century. Then I investigate the editorial history of an important but usually neglected 11-volume edition of Aristotle and Averroes, which appeared in 1560 in Venice, printed by the Venetian printer Comin da Trino, on behalf of the Venetian bookseller Zaccaria Zenaro, under the mark “al segno della fontana”. This edition sheds new light on the publishing history of the coeval and far more famous edition of the Latin Aristotle and Averroes edited by Giunta brothers.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
