Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) generally do not require routine laboratory monitoring. We retrospectively described 81 patients undergoing anti-factor Xa activity testing during DOAC treatment, mainly because of suspected drug interactions. Anti-Xa activity results and their relationship with clinical characteristics and treatment management were evaluated. This study describes the clinical settings in which anti-Xa testing was performed and the laboratory findings observed.
