Lamine

The use of the foil in architecture goes far beyond a simple reduction in the thickness of materials; rather, it presents itself as a true spatial instrument, capable of organizing and generating emptiness. With its presence, the surface abandons the weight of mass to become a boundary, defining space not by subtraction, but by delimitation. From the second half of the twentieth century onwards, the building is no longer seen as a compact volume, but as a system of interconnected planes, an architecture that emerges from the overlaps and intersections between surfaces.
