The Roman villa of Beverara was discovered between 1928 and 1930 during the construction of a new sewer collector in the city of Bologna. It is considered to be one of the most significant complexes for understanding residential life in the northwestern suburbium of ancient Bononia. The edifice, which had only been partially excavated and preserved at foundation level, yielded an important set of mosaic pavements. However, its precise location was subsequently lost. A meticulous re-examination of archival data, supported by Geographic Information Systems (gis) and comparison with analogous contexts, has resulted in the proposal of a planimetric reconstruction of the complex throughout its phases of use, traditionally dated between the 1st and 3rd-4th centuries ad. Concurrently, a novel endeavour to locate the Roman villa is being pursued, with a primary focus on historical cartography and aerial photography. These methodologies are also being utilised to facilitate the reconstruction of the ancient road network within this region of Roman Bononia.

Abstract
These methodologies are also being utilised to facilitate the reconstruction of the ancient road network within this region of Roman Bononia.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
