This paper presents an integrated methodology for documenting and interpreting the architectural and urban evolution of the Theatine complex of Sant’Andrea della Valle in Rome through a georeferenced knowledge system. Developed within the framework of Spoke 8 – PE5 CHANGES, the research combines archival investigation, historical cartography, bibliographic sources, and high-resolution terrestrial laser scanning within a relational database derived from the Lazio Antico methodological framework. Rather than treating the church as an isolated monument, the study reconstructs the historical development of the entire urban block, highlighting the interaction between ancient, medieval, Renaissance, and post-Tridentine phases. Documentary, graphic, and spatial data (1D, 2D, and 3D) are integrated through shared spatial and chronological references, enabling the classification of Topographical Units and the correlation of historical evidence with metric survey data. The study demonstrates how georeferenced digital infrastructures can enhance historical interpretation while providing replicable tools for the documentation, conservation, and management of historically stratified architectural heritage.
