In this paper, we address the distributed LinearQuadratic-Gaussian optimal control problem for discrete-time networked systems. The feedback controller consists of local control stations, each receiving partial measurement data from the plant and regulating a portion of the input signal. We propose a novel solution based on a reduced communication protocol, capable of achieving performance levels arbitrarily close to those of the optimal centralized approach, provided the number of consensus iterations is sufficiently large.
