In the years 2011-2018 the archaeological mission conducted by the Italian Archaeological School at Athens and Sapienza University of Rome has brought to light three monumental buildings in the northern area of the Praetorium district, which were built from the 1st cent. BC to the 3rd cent. AD. They have been named Great Mausoleum 1, Semi-circular Monument 3, Squared Monument 4. Whereas the Great Mausoleum 1 and the Squared Monument 4 are surely identifiable as a monumental tombs, given their position, facing the main street east-west, and monumental plan, with hypogeum chambers, the function of the Semi-circular Monument 3 is at the moment the most debated; indications may come from the analysis of the materials. The paper focuses on the most relevant glass and metal findings from the above mentioned three monuments, particularly focusing on the results of the last three years investigation on the recovered materials. The Great Mausoleum 1 stored the most precious finds: glass unguentaria, ivory spindles, an amber ring and a silver ring, an amber pendant, ivory combs, a silver vase and bronze remains of a small box. In the other two buildings an iron chisel, a small pick and a lock came out, beside several unguentaria. In addition to those, the most representative objects will be illustrated through descriptions, pictures and drawings, in the attempt to contribute to the reconstruction of the social-cultural panorama, religious identities and funerary behaviours of Gortys élite in the Hellenistic-Roman period.
