Tessuti

The theme of the urban fabric represents a truly significant field in which architecture investigates the spatial and formal relationship between the building and the city. The urban fabric may perhaps be attributed to the intermingling of elements, structural systems, and typological aggregates — as Saverio Muratori understood them — that make up a block, through which architecture engages in constructing and completing itself in order to achieve the urban form and its spaces of use: public, private, and those of dwelling. Architectural tradition has always recognized images as the privileged tool through which structure can be conceived, reconsidered, and constructed. In this context, some students have immersed themselves in the design of an ideal city inscribed within geometric figures, such as the circle or the square, arranged along the coastline.

Il tema del tessuto urbano rappresenta un vero e proprio campo significativo dove l’architettura indaga il rapporto spaziale e formale che intercorre tra l’edificio e la città. Il tessuto è forse dovuto dalla commistione di elementi, impianti e da aggregati tipologici — come li intendeva Saverio Muratori — che compongono un isolato, attraverso cui l’architettura si diverte a costruirsi e completarsi al fine di pervenire alla forma urbana e ai suoi spazi d’uso: pubblici, privati e quelli dell’abitare. La tradizione architettonica ha sempre riconosciuto nelle immagini lo strumento privilegiato attraverso cui la struttura può essere pensata, rivista e costruita. In questo contesto, alcuni studenti si sono immersi nella progettazione di una città ideale inscritta in figure geometriche, come il cerchio o il quadrato, disposte lungo la costa del mare.
