The paper aims to present Jacqueline Vodoz (1921-2005) segment of photographic work that documents significant episodes and protagonists of the history of Italian cinema. Born in Milano, she studied in England and Switzerland, before returning in the ‘50 in Italy alredy active as photo reporter. Included in Jacqueline Vodoz and Bruno Danese Foundation, her photographic archive consists of thousand negatives, approximately a thousand of them dedicated to movies and actresses, whom she approached with very different point of views and goals compared to her colleagues (it’s the paparazzi season). She orbited the sets for the specials asked by magazines and newspapers, crafting stories whose complexity and narrative focus are underscored by typewritten texts that facilitated a correct interpretation.

Il saggio presenta la porzione dell'opera fotografica di Jacqueline Vodoz (1921-2005), che documenta episodi e protagonisti significativi della storia del cinema italiano. Nata a Milano, studia in Inghilterra e Svizzera, prima di tornare in Italia negli anni Cinquante, già attiva come fotoreporter. Il suo archivio fotografico è composto da migliaia di negativi, circa mille dei quali dedicati a film e attrici, che Vodoz avvicina con punti di vista e obiettivi ben diversi da quelli dei suoi colleghi (era la stagione dei paparazzi), gravitando intorno ai set per gli special commissionati da riviste e giornali, o realizzando reportage la cui complessità e focalizzazione narrativa sono sottolineate da testi dattiloscritti che ne facilitavano la corretta interpretazione.
