What about pre-Hellenistic pottery? Looking for the 5th and 4th century BC material culture in Northern Epirus

The transition between the Classical and Hellenistic periods is crucial for the new political and cultural definition of Northern Epirus, culminating in full adherence to the Hellenistic koine. From an archaeological point of view, however, this remains a very elusive phase. This contribution aims to help fill this gap, focusing on 5th and 4th century BC ceramic fragments from old and new excavations known up to date in Northern Epirus. These have proved useful in opening new research perspectives for outlining the characteristics of the material culture of this period.
