The enclosure is a primordial figure, the limit – whether physical or conceptual – that classifies and assigns to space a symbolic, social, or functional value. More precisely, to clarify its meaning in relation to external considerations, it can be understood as a relational entity in which the (concave or convex) space of architecture and the city may be treated as an inhabitable world of shadow objects, objects of use, and, why not, obsolete objects1. It is through the combination of these elements that the perimeter unfolds the relationship between architecture and the city, between anthropized space and natural space, between public and private, establishing conditions of access, threshold, and relation with what contributes to the definition of urban form; for to delineate a perimeter is the original gesture that allows a place to be distinguished from an undifferentiated territory.

Abstract
The enclosure is a primordial figure, the limit – whether physical or conceptual – that classifies and assigns to space a symbolic, social, or functional value. More precisely, to clarify its meaning in relation to external considerations, it can be understood as a relational entity in which the (concave or convex) space of architecture and the city may be treated as an inhabitable world of shadow objects, objects of use, and, why not, obsolete objects1. It is through the combination of these elements that the perimeter unfolds the relationship between architecture and the city, between anthropized space and natural space, between public and private, establishing conditions of access, threshold, and relation with what contributes to the definition of urban form; for to delineate a perimeter is the original gesture that allows a place to be distinguished from an undifferentiated territory.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
