This research examines adaptive reuse as a practice of plural storytelling, exploring how interior architecture transforms industrial heritage into dynamic spaces of cultural dialogue. Through a comparative analysis of FerroForum (Luxembourg), Museo MACRO (Rome), and Matadero (Madrid), the study investigates how adaptive reuse creates new narratives while preserving historical memory through reinterpretation and multi-authored design strategies. It asks how interior architecture can translate layered histories into meaningful contemporary experiences and balance historical authenticity with new functions. By highlighting the interplay between tangible heritage and intangible narratives, the research argues that adaptive reuse extends beyond functional conversion, positioning interior architecture as a key tool for preserving, reactivating, and communicating plural histories in inclusive and sustainable ways.

Abstract
This research examines adaptive reuse as a practice of plural storytelling, exploring how interior architecture transforms industrial heritage into dynamic spaces of cultural dialogue. Through a comparative analysis of FerroForum (Luxembourg), Museo MACRO (Rome), and Matadero (Madrid), the study investigates how adaptive reuse creates new narratives while preserving historical memory through reinterpretation and multi-authored design strategies. It asks how interior architecture can translate layered histories into meaningful contemporary experiences and balance historical authenticity with new functions. By highlighting the interplay between tangible heritage and intangible narratives, the research argues that adaptive reuse extends beyond functional conversion, positioning interior architecture as a key tool for preserving, reactivating, and communicating plural histories in inclusive and sustainable ways.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
