Carthage entre mémoire funéraire et développement urbain : résultats préliminaires de la cinquième campagne de fouilles, étude et valorisation (2025) à Carthage par la mission tuniso-italienne INP-Sapienza

The fifth archaeological campaign conducted in 2025 by the Tunisian-Italian mission has yielded significant advances at the sites of Dermech and the Odéon Hill. At Dermech, the stratigraphic sequence confirms a continuous occupation spanning a millennium, revealing in particular traces of a Libyo-Phoenician presence predating the funerary use of the site. The new Sector C has provided fresh data on the final phases of the ancient city of Carthage. Meanwhile, excavations on the Odéon Hill have refined the chronology of the Punic burials and brought to light a late antique residential quarter, offering a renewed understanding of the urban and funerary history of Carthage.
