The article examines the reception of Ilse Aichinger in Italy between 1951 and 1963. Drawing on archival materials as well as other sources, it reconstructs translation attempts, publishing decisions, mediation networks, and critical responses to her work. It shows how aesthetic reservations, cultural contexts, and market forces shaped her limited reception.
