Between 2021 and 2025, the joint archaeological mission of the Institut National du Patrimoine (INP) and Sapienza University of Rome conducted five excavation campaigns at Carthage, uncovering seven water installations in the areas of Dermech and the Odéon. Dating to the Punic, Roman, and Byzantine periods, these structures display different construction techniques and functions, ranging from water storage and conveyance to use in productive contexts. Their distribution and typology reflect diversified water-management strategies adapted to the topographical and functional characteristics of different urban sectors of Carthage.
