Mikhail Eremets, pioneer in high-pressure physics and a trailblazer in the quest for room-temperature superconductivity, died on 16 November 2024 at the age of 75 after a long illness. He will be remembered for pushing the boundaries of experimental high-pressure science and bringing humanity closer to a century-long dream of room-temperature superconductivity.
