This doctoral research critically addresses the environmental, landscape, and social transformations generated by the expansion of industrial agriculture in the Argentine Pampa Húmeda region, with particular reference to the so-called “Pampa Gringa” in the province of Córdoba. In this context, the research aims to identify, analyze, and make visible emerging initiatives of change in the ways of producing and inhabiting the territory, in order to connect them with one another, strengthen them, and promote their dissemination. In this sense, the thesis positions itself in opposition to the dominant model through the emergence of alternative practices already in place. The research is grounded in a theoretical framework that considers landscape as a common good and develops the concept of trame vive (living networks), understood as dynamic socio-ecological systems composed of green and blue infrastructures, community practices, and forms of governance. These networks are not conceived as artificial constructions, but as pre-existing ecological flows and relationships, whose continuity can be fragmented or recomposed through human action. From a methodological point of view, the study adopts a mixed and situated approach, integrating quantitative and qualitative tools, ethnography, oral history, and the indiciary method, used to intercept emerging practices and counter-trends in relation to the dominant agricultural model. The empirical work includes field research, analysis of public policies, and a corpus of 52 interviews with local actors, complemented by genealogical and migratory narratives between the Modenese Apennines and the Argentine Pampas. The research analyzes international and regional reference cases, and then focuses on three municipalities — Laborde, Isla Verde, and Camilo Aldao — in which local initiatives highlight alternative ways of producing and managing the territory. These cases shed light on the role of schools, local administrations, and producers in activating processes of agroecological transition, environmental education, and forms of community governance. The results show how the identification, connection, and dissemination of emerging practices can activate significant transformations even in contexts strongly shaped by industrial agriculture. The thesis proposes a transition toward regenerative territorial models, based on the recomposition of ecological and social relationships.

Abstract
This doctoral research critically addresses the environmental, landscape, and social transformations generated by the expansion of industrial agriculture in the Argentine Pampa Húmeda region, with particular reference to the so-called “Pampa Gringa” in the province of Córdoba. In this context, the research aims to identify, analyze, and make visible emerging initiatives of change in the ways of producing and inhabiting the territory, in order to connect them with one another, strengthen them, and promote their dissemination. In this sense, the thesis positions itself in opposition to the dominant model through the emergence of alternative practices already in place.
